Norfolk Foreign Bird Association
The Norfolk Foreign Bird Association was formed in 1974 and held their first show in February that year. The association is for Birdkeepers and Breeders and like-minded people who love birds. The club is based at the Methodist Church Hall on Heartsease Lane, NR7 9NR,
We hold an Open Show on the last Sunday in September every year and attract bird keepers from all over the UK. It is most probably the biggest Foreign Bird Show in the UK. The show is held at the Spixworth Village Hall, on Crostwick Lane, Spixworth. Norwich. NR10 3NQ. Norfolk Foreign Bird Association also hold three bird sales a year so that Birdkeepers can sell their surplus stock. The sale day attracts a lot of people and it is a great place to meet like minded people. The sales start at 10am and is usually finished by 1pm because all the birds sell very quickly. Trade stands are also outside the venue so you can order your seed and accessories. The sales take place at Easton College sports hall, Bawburgh road, Easton, Norfolk, NR95GA Entry £3. The sales are run under the guidance of the DEFRA & Natural England's General License conditions. Norfolk Foreign Bird Association holds monthly meetings on the Second Tuesday of every month. They start at 7.30pm finishes at 10 pm. Tea and Biscuits are served during the interval and each month we have someone giving a talk or presentation on a bird related subject. Meetings take place at the Heartsease Methodist Church, Heartsease Lane, Norwich. NR7 9NR. Outings this year: Visit to Nick Barretts famous stud of birds and other animals. Visit to the Van Der L Seeds for a behind the scenes factory tour. Visit to Roger Cattamole Waterfowl and Softbills business site.
